Engineer,
External Relations/
Developer Advocate

We’re hiring an Engineer, External Relations (a.k.a developer advocate)—a technical role focused on bridging what we build with how the world understands and adopts it.

About Galoy

At Galoy, we are building the future of banking by developing a financial infrastructure stack on top of the Bitcoin network. Our platform includes both open source and Fair Source licensed projects, fostering collaboration and contribution across the ecosystem. With it, we enable institutions to connect to and offer financial services on Bitcoin.

We recently announced Lana, a Bitcoin-backed lending platform designed to enable financial institutions to bring bitcoin-backed loans to market quickly.

The banking platform also includes a core accounting ledger (Cala), and a payments bridge (Bria). Galoy is also the developer of the Blink bitcoin wallet and Stablesats, a method for creating stable balances using derivatives instead of tokens.

About the Role

We’re hiring an Engineer, External Relations (a.k.a developer advocate)—a technical role focused on bridging what we build with how the world understands and adopts it.

You’ll write and ship code across Galoy projects (Lana, Cala, Bria), but you’ll also help communicate how they work through thoughtful documentation, compelling tutorials, public posts, and direct interaction with developers, institutions, and partners.

This is a rare hybrid role for someone who wants to be close to the code and close to the conversation—turning complex systems into stories that resonate with the technical community, prospects, and users.

The ideal candidate checks many of the following points:

  • Has 3+ years of experience as a software engineer (especially backend, full-stack, or systems)
  • Is deep into Bitcoin (or Lightning), both conceptually and practically
  • Has experience with Rust, GraphQL, and other aspects of the Galoy stack https://github.com/GaloyMoney
  • Enjoys explaining technical systems through code, diagrams, blog posts, or even threads
  • Is comfortable jumping into conversations on GitHub, Telegram, podcasts, or in-person events
  • Is curious, product-minded, and care about how your work reaches and helps real people
  • bonus: You’ve worked on fintech or core banking platforms before

Main Responsibilities

  • Contribute to core Galoy projects (Cala, Bria, Lana) by shipping real features and improvements
  • Produce clear, accurate, and developer-friendly documentation and onboarding flows
  • Write tutorials, code samples, and blog posts that help explain how and why to build with Galoy
  • Engage publicly in technical conversations: GitHub issues, community chats, events, etc
  • Help prospects and partners understand our platform by participating in sales conversations, demos, or technical walkthroughs
  • Represent Galoy at meetups, conferences, or in conversations online
  • Champion clarity—internally and externally—around how Galoy's stack works and what it enables

If you’re interested in this opportunity

  • Send your CV to jobs@galoy.io.
  • Or contribute a PR to our repositories, like in lana, cala, or bria.

Perks

  • Work on cutting-edge Bitcoin infrastructure
  • Contribute to open and fair source projects
  • Receive compensation in Bitcoin
  • Collaborate with a diverse, international team in a remote-first environment
